Getting out from behind the truck

Have you ever been caught on a highway driving behind a large truck during a rainy day? A moderately rainy day - somewhere between a soft drizzle and a downpour.
The type of day where the rain is easily manageable if you're driving on your own.
But if you find yourself behind a big truck? (Think a semi / 18-wheeler.) You can barely see anything. Gobs of rain are spitting relentlessly at your windshield, ceaselessly. Your wipers are batting away with everything they've got, but still you can't stem the tide because you're getting clobbered every passing moment.
Then, have you ever changed lanes and driven right next to that same truck?
No more spitting rain. No more assault on your windshield. Just some moderate rain that your wipers handle swimmingly.
The world is brand new.
At least, it feels that way. The world isn't actually new, it was always there waiting for you. You only needed to change your approach and your perspective slightly to see all the opportunity that was there.
Some of us like driving behind these trucks because it gives us an easy way out. It keeps us from becoming vulnerable. It's the grown-up version of the move where the kid doesn't try on a test so they can avoid the possibility of feeling the pain that comes from failing when sincerely attempting to achieve something.
The world is ready when you are.
