“I’m still feeling pains in my neck and back,” I told Jason. He’s a yoga instructor, a spiritual guru. He leads retreats and what not. We did kindergarten together.

“You just keep at it, and you’ll get there,” he assured me.

“How do you just keep going when the changes are so hard to appreciate and take so long?” I soured.

"Set your mind to it," he continued with a patient chuckle. "Practice it repeatedly, day after day, and it will come."

I remained unconvinced. He was right.

Many extremely talented people have frittered away into the dustbin of history. Forgotten. Having died before they’d ever lived. Yet many armed with less talent and more persistence have done and will do countless great things. They will make a difference.

In appreciation for persistence.
